About the Author
Jermaine Curtis is a former D1 athlete and MLB player who came from humble beginnings in Southern California. Since the age of five he dreamed of playing in the MLB. And in pursuit of that dream, he steered clear of gangs, drugs, and distractions that sidetracked so many in his neighborhood. He stayed focused on the endgame. He received a scholarship to study and play baseball at UCLA. It was a proud day, because he was also the first in his family to go to college.
Three years later the energetic captain of the UCLA baseball team saw his dream of playing in the bigs come true when he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. He made his MLB debut in front of his family, and 40,000 screaming fans. He played a total of 10 years with the Twins, Reds, A’s, and Cardinals.
Since leaving baseball as a player, he has become a nationally recognized inspirational speaker, built a wildly successful youtube channel, and became the spokesman for a national sports retailing business (Smash It Sports). He also coaches aspiring baseball and softball players across the country. So far, the career secrets he has shared have helped dozens of his students play college ball, 9 of his student athletes went D1 and 5 of them have reached the major leagues. And he's just getting started.
